Curtain Bluff Resort
The 5-star beachfront Curtain Bluff Resort offers up a rich selection of facilities, ranging from gourmet dining opportunities to scuba diving lessons and outdoor sports courts. Whether you’re travelling with family, friends or with a loved one, Curtain Bluff Resort aims to ensure your getaway is one to treasure forever. Luxurious accommodation sits just a few steps away from the beach, while all guests have access to two beaches: one for swimming, sunbathing and lapping up the picture-perfect views, and another for surfing. Children are well looked after with a range of activities and events, and the on-site spa features a wealth of treatments including massages, manicures and body wraps.
Perched on the south coast of Antigua, Curtain Bluff Resort can be found on the outskirts of Old Road town. There are several beaches, restaurants and historic church buildings dotted around, but otherwise the resort sits in relative seclusion away from the every-day hustle and bustle. As the island is so small, guests can jump in a cab or rent a car to explore more of the wider area. The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Nelson’s Dockyard can be reached in under half an hour, while a little further on is Shirley Heights, a lookout spot from the top of a mountain which features the best views of the island.
Placing an emphasis on quantity, not quality, there are 72 guest rooms spread across three floors at Curtain Bluff Resort. Accommodation follows an elegant tropical style with lashings of vibrant colour, while common features include floor-to-ceiling windows, en suite facilities, a separate seating area and a furnished patio or balcony. Deluxe Rooms and Junior Suites include a king-size bed in each which can be converted into two twin beds upon request. Rooms on the Bluff have multi-bedroom suites for larger groups in need of more room, while the top-end suites within the Hulford Collection feature private pools, a prime beachfront location and marble bathrooms.
Food and Drink
Decadent meals are served across two restaurants, the Seagrape and Tamarind Restaurant. The Seagrape sits close to the water’s edge and offers breakfast and a chilled buffet lunch. As guests saunter in from the beach for lunch, they can also enjoy a weekly barbecue lunch, accompanied by a live steel-drum band. Dinner is also served up four to five times a week, depending on the season. The open-walled Tamarind Restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch and includes a menu brimming with local and international favourites. Afternoon tea is available at the Sugar Mill terrace, while The Cellar is stocked with over 400 wines from 10 countries; take a tour of the cellar, or sample some tipples during the weekly wine tasting sessions.
Sports, Games and Entertainment
There’s a full range of activities available at Curtain Bluff Resort, varying from scuba diving to squash courts, Pilates and two computer rooms. The all-inclusive rate gives guests full access to the on-site facilities; work up a sweat in the fully equipped fitness centre, practise your serves on the tennis courts, or simply lie back and relax on the hammocks and sun floats. Children are also taken care of with access to Ceebee Kids Club, where they can meet new friends and try out the resort’s facilities in safety. A full set of beauty and spa treatments can be accessed - for an extra charge - at the on-site spa, while other services, including tennis lessons, Caribbean-cooking classes and island excursions, are also available for a surcharge.
