Candia Park Village

We just spent our autumn holiday at Candia Park Village and can absolutely recommend it. Unfortunately, I had a medical emergency on the very first day, and all the staff were incredibly helpful and behaved in an exemplary manner. The hotel manager arrived quickly, introduced himself personally, called a doctor and then consulted with the doctor to determine where I could receive the best medical care. In the meantime, my children were given something to eat, and even I was given a packed lunch to take with me in the ambulance. All the staff present helped and were very friendly. I was afraid and worried, but I felt very well taken care of. After two nights in a hospital in Heraklion, I was able to return to the resort. They asked how I was feeling and I am truly grateful to everyone from the bottom of my heart for helping me so well. Regardless of this, the resort is a dream for young and old alike. The pool and the beautiful sea are very close together, and you have a free choice between different pools, the sea with a beach and the sea with steps. There is a pool bar, a Gelateria, a mini market, a tavern, a great kids' club and much more – the full range of amenities, but without that typical club atmosphere that we don't particularly like. It is laid out like a village, so it's easy to get around. All the staff are friendly and in autumn everything was very relaxed, you don't have to fight for a sun lounger. So, we will definitely be back and can absolutely recommend it for families.

We spent 8 wonderful nights and 9 happy days in this amazing hotel. Everything was absolutely perfect! The nature around is breathtaking, the territory is spacious and thoughtfully designed, and the hotel as well as the rooms have a stylish design. There is also a shop on-site where you can find literally everything — food, water and drinks, clothes, souvenirs, and even children’s toys. The open-air restaurant is a real delight: delicious breakfasts and dinners with a wide choice of dishes — meat, fish, international cuisine, and of course authentic Greek food. There are countless activities for both children and adults: dancing, DJ parties, kids’ yoga, Latin dancing, magic shows, cinema, workshops, and face painting. The beach is wonderful — free sunbeds and a calm bay with no wind (unlike many other beaches in Crete). We also rented a car directly at the hotel and enjoyed driving around the island, discovering its beauty. Most of all, I want to thank the people who made this atmosphere so special. Restaurant manager Nikos, who paid attention to every guest, the entire restaurant staff, the friendly reception girls, the shop assistants, and the amazing hotel supervisor who was always ready to help with any request. We had a really lovely stay here. The hotel grounds are beautiful, the pool area is great for relaxing, and the location right by the sea is absolutely stunning. It’s the perfect place to unwind, and everything was kept very clean and well maintained. However, there are a few things that could be improved. We had asked for a quiet apartment before arriving, but ended up in one right next to the hotel’s own road, close to the main street and the village path. Because of that, we could often hear guest arrivals and departures, as well as staff and delivery vehicles — and the “slow down” signs weren’t always followed. The view was also a bit disappointing. Instead of sea or garden view, we only had a „Hotels-street-view“. The apartments are quite noisy, so nighttime arrivals/departures disturbed our sleep, and especially the extra beds for the kids were not very comfortable. For anyone booking, we’d definitely recommend requesting an apartment on the first floor, as it should be quieter than the ones on the ground level. The staff were generally polite, but at times seemed a bit unmotivated. During check-out, for example, we were just asked to pay the remaining balance, without anyone asking if we enjoyed our stay — a small thing, but it makes a difference. Overall, we still really enjoyed our holiday. The location by the sea and the relaxing atmosphere make this a lovely place to stay. With a few small improvements in room allocation, soundproofing, and guest interaction, it could easily be perfect. Edit: Why is the Hotels answer just a copy of my review???
