I am writing my review 2 days in for a 7 day holiday. I have read some bad reviews and I feel really strongly about my experience. I must also I am a solo traveller and am not all inclusive.  Thw location of this hotel is stunning . Pics added.  There is a tax to pay per person per night ( this is the same in any greek hotel) my room is perfect and includes a fridge . The shower took me all of 2 minutes to work it. It's perfect. My room is clean and spacious and regularly cleaned by hotel staff. The area is great buy be warned is perhaps a 7 minute walk down to the village which has shops restaurants and also the beach  staff have been friendly and if they are not there at the minute you want them . They soon are . Pool area and pool equally amazing.  Yes there's a tile here and there that needs replacing. Also there is a shop at reception for water beer etc. I read some reviews about the price of this. Hotels in Europe don't recommend you drink the tap water this is the same in Spain portugal.  I got a 1.75 litre bottle of water for 1 euro 50c. If you want it cheaper go to the shop.in summary  really quiet lovely hotel.  If I was coming back to crete again I would happily book. Ps the rooms do not have a safe but these can be be hired at redeption whwre they have therr own.  10 euro per week rental. Srunning location feel safe hapoy.

The hotel absolutely doesn't meet 4-star standards. After our stay, I'm not sure I would give it 2 stars. The room we were staying in was at the end of a dark hallway because the lights weren't working, so we had to grope our way back to the hotel to avoid hitting an open window! Along with the lights, the Wi-Fi wasn't working either. The room itself was dirty and dusty and should have been thoroughly cleaned. The worst was the bathroom: filthy and moldy, poor lighting, and a drawer under the sink that fell on my son the first day. Fortunately, nothing happened. There was constant water on the floor, even when we weren't using water. Therefore, towels had to be on the floor constantly. The cleaner didn't even replace them; they just hung them on the rack next to the towels to dry. The meals were decent, but the same every day, with a constant lack of cutlery. Sometimes we ate cold meals before we even got forks! An animal farm? A tragedy. It was sad to see these poor animals. Someone should investigate. It's simply outrageous!  I do not recommend it.

We left after 4 days, everything was not good.  We just had key to the balcony door because they didn't have key for the door. The bed was old and bad mattresses. Really bad Internet, odd buzzing sound at the swimming pool. The staff not really friendly except one. Same food every day and not good quality. Lacking ambition, should be easy to do so much better.

What can I say about this hotel — it’s a paradise! We’ve stayed at many luxurious 5+ star hotels, but Almyrida truly outshines them all. The service is beyond exceptional; it’s rare to find such genuine care and attention to detail. The food is delicious and always varied — every meal felt like a new experience. This vacation was simply a dream come true.

A big thank you to the whole team for such a wonderful stay! Wishing the hotel continued success and prosperity. This is definitely not a 3-star hotel — it’s a solid 10 out of 10! ❤️❤️❤️

This hotel was so far below standard that we left within the hour and booked another property. I feel compelled to share this experience to warn others and urge management to issue a refund for what was an unworthy and misleading stay.

To begin with, this is absolutely not a 4-star hotel—despite how it’s advertised. At best, it meets the minimum for a 3-star rating. Our room was unkept and visibly poorly maintained, with signs of neglect that immediately made us uncomfortable and unwilling to stay.

Worse still, dirty refuse sacks were left in the corridor outside guest rooms, including ours. This is not just unsightly—it’s a basic hygiene issue and creates a completely unwelcoming and unsanitary atmosphere.

Despite being a waterpark-focused resort, guests are charged extra for the use of pool towels, which is an absurd policy. Charging for something so basic feels intentionally deceptive and cheapens the entire experience.

When we expressed our concerns to reception staff, we were met with a cold, dismissive tone. There was no apology, no solution offered, and no willingness to make things right. The attitude from staff only confirmed that guest experience and satisfaction are not a priority here.

Within an hour, we made the decision to leave and check into another hotel. That should speak volumes.

We paid for a 4-star experience and received an underwhelming, unhygienic, and unprofessional environment. Based on the condition of the property, the hidden charges, and the complete disregard for guest concerns, I advise to steer clear of this hotel.

Avoid this hotel unless serious changes are made.

Just returned from a week-stayed in a family suite and decided on all inclusive for the first time ever!
Amazing hotel, spotlessly clean, fresh food, great staff, great beds, great pool!! Food was freshly cooked each day, beautiful variety of hot and cold Cretan dishes, fresh breads, salads, fruits and vegetables at every meal. Hot and cold food available at every meal- something for everyone, even my fussy eater was enjoying the choice and found some new flavours which is great!! Staff are fabulous and the location is perfectly close to the centre of Almyrida!

Rooms are old and cheap, bathrooms have terrible old lights and dirty bathtubs with broken shower heads and everything splashes all over the floor. The 3rd bed is an old sofa not a bed. The rooms are very underwhelming there is no decorations, just two single beds a sofa and dark wooden wardrobe, no carpets either.
Service is also terrible - drinks aren’t free for dinner, even water so you have to pay extra. No one cleans up the tables or gives knives/forks on time so people are left sitting and waiting for ages until they can eat. There’s also flies gathering there. Some people had to clean their own tables or eat next to someone else’s leftovers stacked on the same table. The manager doesn’t do anything apart from going up to people with a fake smile and asking if everything is okay, expecting a “yes” answer to make himself feel better.
The little “farm” behind isn’t great at all. The animals are kept in very small spaces and have barely any space to run around in especially the pony. It’s sad to look at.

Almirida Village & Water Park is situated in Apokoronas on Crete, the greenest and most beautiful region in Crete. The resort is located in the olive groves about 400 meters from the sea. Almirida is a lovely genuine summer destination with a fantastic beach and tavernas that are famous for the good food. 
From the hotel terrace you can enjoy the breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea and the mountain surroundings. The calm and peaceful area is the perfect setting for a relaxed vacation, and yet, there is plenty to do should you want to be more active.
