Location

Crete lies in the Mediterranean Sea and is due south from the Greek mainland. The resort of Hersonissos is on the north coast of the island between the capital of Heraklion and the lively resort of Malia. Hersonissos is a much quieter resort with a slower pace of life with the Acropolis Apartments located within a few minutes’ walk of the beach and the picturesque harbour area. Those wanting to explore the island may wish to visit the Minoan palace at Knossos which is 17.6 miles from Hersonissos and just south of Heraklion where the International airport is situated. Other activities nearby include the water park Acqua Plus which is 3.4 miles and Crete Golf club 3.9 miles from the apartments.

Room Types

The apartments are well-suited for two people although up to four people can be accommodated with the use of sofa beds. The Apartments for two adults contain two single beds and a sofa bed. Larger Apartments with a bedroom and living room comprise two single beds and up to two sofa beds. The bright, spacious rooms include a private bathroom with shower, TV, telephone, air conditioning, a well-equipped kitchenette featuring a hob, fridge, kettle and all the utensils needed, air conditioning and a balcony with a view of the pool or town. Apartments benefit from a daily cleaning service ensuring guests enjoy a comfortable stay.

Food and Drink

The café / bar and restaurant at the Acropolis Apartments provides guests with a selection of Greek and International cuisines for breakfast, lunch and dinner. In addition, the bar delivers a wide variety of drinks, beverages and cocktails with seating both indoors and outdoors at the front of the apartments under cover and at the back of the apartments around the swimming pool terrace. With some of the apartments having a well-appointed kitchenette, guests are able to purchase snacks, drinks and local produce in the neighbouring supermarket. In the surrounding area there’s also a good selection of bars, tavernas and restaurants. These are located on the road from the apartments to the beach and along the seafront itself.

Sports, Games and Entertainment

The good-sized swimming pool at the rear of the apartments is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the fine weather. It’s surrounded by a sun terrace with sun loungers and parasols. Other facilities at the apartments include a pool table in the café / bar, satellite TV and an internet area. Wi-FI is available throughout. Proximity to the beach and harbour means that there’s a good selection of watersports available for hire. The water park Acqua Plus is only a short taxi ride away as is the Crete Golf Club. For those looking for nightlife, there’s no shortage of tavernas and there are even a couple of nightclubs along the seafront.
