Understated is something you’ll never find in a sentence along with ‘Dubai’. You only need to look at The Palm, UAE to see what we mean. With its glitzy resorts, luxury restaurants and one-of-a-kind tourist attractions, holidays to The Palm, UAE will leave you with memories lasting an entire lifetime.
Found off the coast of Dubai, The Palm Islands are actually three artificial islands. Palm Jebel Ali is still in the process of being completed, while Palm Deira has recently changed tack and is now simply known as ‘Deira Island’. The Palm Jumeirah, however, is full of world-renowned resorts that attract families, groups of friends and even celebrities to its shores. Just like Palm Jebel Ali, Palm Jumeirah takes its name seriously - both Palms are made to resemble palm trees topped with crescents, given them their unmistakable shape.
Whether it’s world-class eateries, family-friendly resorts or epic beaches you’re after, holidays to The Palm have got it all in typically luxurious abundance. From the waterpark in the 5* Atlantis hotel, to the miles of private white-sand beaches outside hotels, The Palm holidays are like nothing you’ve ever seen before. All this, plus you’ve got all the sights of Dubai’s city centre on your doorstep, including the world’s tallest building and endless colourful souks.
Holidays to The Palm, UAE are popular all-year-round thanks to its warm temperatures and long sunny days. Between May and September, the mercury climbs up way into the 30℃s, making it a scorcher of a break for sun-worshippers looking to top up their tan. Between October and April the weather is a little less stifling, with the average temperature hovering around the late teens to late 20℃s. No matter what sort of getaway you’re after, holidays to The Palm, UAE never fail to disappoint.
Even if you’re not staying at the world-famous Atlantis hotel, don’t let that stop you from enjoying a day out at its numerous family friendly attractions. First of all there’s Aquaventure Waterpark, which features over 17 acres of thrilling rides and slides. There’s something for everyone, from a mile of interconnected tubes for lazy floating around the park, to the adrenaline-pumping Leap of Faith - a near vertical waterslide that sends visitors shooting through shark-filled waters via a tunnel. Also at Atlantis is Dolphin Bay and Sea Lion Point, where you can get up-close-and-personal with the animals during a private meet and greet.
When in Dubai, why not take the party to the beach? There are tonnes of lively beach clubs around the Palm, offering a mix of party options. Playa Nomade at Rixos The Palm offers a laid-back chilled vibe during the week which comes to life with party brunches and resident DJs on Fridays and Saturdays. There’s also Nasimi Beach within the Atlantic hotel, which greets visitors with a seafront restaurant and more DJs throughout the night. For the best nightlife, though, check out Mirage Dubai inside the Waldorf Astoria hotel. This nightclub/karaoke bar is where The Palm’s liveliest and most glitzy parties can be found.
This 11km walkway stretches along the outer crescent of the Palm, and is the place to be for when the thriving resorts get a little too busy. It’s best enjoyed early morning or late at night, when you can enjoy views of the Atlantis, the skyscrapers of Dubai and out to sea when the heat isn’t at its peak. Some people opt to power walk or run along the boardwalk, but most tend to opt for a leisurely stroll so that they can pick up souvenirs from shops as they make their way round. There are also plenty of food trucks opposite the Atlantis, allowing you to refuel as you walk!
Take a trip off The Palm, UAE, to head up the tallest building in the world! The skyscraper is impossible to miss, no matter where you’re staying in Dubai. It’s got a total height of 829.8m (that’s over two and a half times the height of the Shard!), and is made up of 160 storeys. Luckily there’s a lift up to the very top, with the observation desks giving you the best sweeping views across the whole of Dubai. From the top, see how many of Dubai’s iconic sights you can see, from Burj Al Arab Jumeirah to the massive Dubai Fountain and Creek.
