Jebel Ali lies on the southern district of Dubai, sharing proximity to both Jumeirah and Abu Dhabi. Your holidays to Jebel Ali can include the best of these three popular cities. Jebel Ali is mainly famous as a business hub and commercial port town, but has much more to offer, from diving centers, golf resorts, enchanting souks and malls, plus spectacular food.
The port town of Jebel Ali has lately been developed as a tourist hot spot, thanks to its commercial hub status. Often adventure-hungry tourists come here to endeavor Skydiving - Skydive Dubai, the Palm DZ, is the place-to-be for the amateur skydivers, and the experienced ones. Equally, adventure lovers can try out the watersports on offer in Jebel Ali, with several scuba-diving centers available. The Freediving Club and Atlantis Dive Centre have been rated best, and tourists can contact the centers for experiencing scuba-diving, snorkeling, and other watersports-based activities.
Family holidays to this UAE gem will find relaxation in places like Seawings, Megaplex, and Peekaboo! Seawings Seaplane Tours conduct exciting sightseeing excursions to Dubai’s awe-inspiring landmarks, where tourists also get to see the sensational live aerial views of Dubai’s magnificent skyline. While Megaplex takes your cinematic experience to another level with superlative effects on the forefront and Peekaboo! Is fabulous for the little ones. If you’re seeking luxury while you’re here, places like Dubai Marina Yacht Club, Jetty Lounge and Jebel Ali beach are sure to impress.
This long waterfront stretch is perfect for a leisurely walk as the sun sets. While it clings to the beach on one side, on the other it embraces swanky apartments and hotels, shops, pop-up stalls, lively bars and more. The Walk at JBR (Jumeirah Beach Resort) is marked with a plethora of things to see and do whether you’re wandering with the family in tow or your partner – and makes for a lovely evening spent without going too far!
Jebel Ali Open Beach is somewhat a hidden gem. This natural and unspoilt stretch of sand can only be reached by car, making it a great spot if you wish to visit somewhere peaceful and not too overcrowded. Those interested in watersports will be in their element, with no lack of kitesurfers dotted between and weaving in and out of the waves – but you’ll have to bring your own gear as there’s no shop here for equipment. A great spot if you want to get away from it all for the day.
If you want to indulge in a lavish spread of lip-smacking delicacies, head to at Margaux in Souk al Bahar, opposite Dubai Mall fountains. Soak up the ambience and the variety of European and continental dishes on offer here. Also, take delight in the views of stellar Burj Khalifa and the spectacular fountain show. If your mouth is watering for Mediterranean cuisine then head straight to 3 La Fontana, JA Palm Tree Court, and feel welcomed by themed dinner buffets. You may also choose to eat on the huge outdoor terrace overlooking the stunning skyline.
Ibn Battuta Mall at Jebel Ali is not just a mall but an architectural wonder too. The world’s largest themed shopping mall, the pavilions here are created as per the voyages taken by the legendary explorer Ibn Battuta. The themes are based on six countries namely Egypt, Tunisia, Persia, India, China, and Andalusia. So, you can imagine the vibrant interiors. The mall not only has high-end brands, but also an extensive exhibition for those interested in Islamic science, astronomy and inventions. The bookworms can lay their hands on some of the incredibly-written old and modern literary pieces in House of Prose, one of Dubai’s rare second-hand bookshops. With over 400 shops and a cinema – this is a shopping experience with a difference.
