Glittering skyscrapers, azure seas, golden sandy beaches, exciting adventure sports, endless shopping – Dubai holidays are perfect for thrill seekers and beach lovers alike. Nestled on the Persian Gulf coast, Dubai is a dazzling jewel in the UAE crown. Despite making its name as a millionaire’s paradise, the City of Superlatives is a great choice for all budgets, with good-value late deals and some of the best all-inclusive hotels in the world. Its subtropical climate makes November-April the best time to visit Dubai, when you’re greeted with balmy sunshine and clear skies. From topping up your tan on Jumeirah Beach to taking a Dhow cruise across the Dubai Creek, holidays to Dubai offer a plethora of attractions. See Dubai city from the impressive Burj Khalifa, visit the stunning Palm Jumeriah island, or splash some cash at the dazzling Dubai Mall – take your pick!
Dubai is also a fantastic destination for families with great kid-friendly resorts, theme parks and waterparks to enjoy. Spend your day trips on desert safaris, sand surfing, buggy driving or explore the spectacular malls and souks. Kids will love meeting big cats and hoofed animals at the Dubai Zoo, or skiing on real snow at Ski Dubai. Once you’ve soaked up endless sunshine and enjoyed the powder-soft beaches, enliven your evenings at cocktail bars and beach parties. The vibrant bars, clubs and pubs in Jumeirah shows how scintillating Dubai nightlife can be. Claimed to be the world’s fastest growing city, this oasis in the desert truly takes some beating as one of the world’s best holiday destinations!
Dubai’s beaches are buzzing with cool beach clubs, thrilling watersports and miles of golden sand to lounge upon. Sunbathe with sparkling skyscrapers as your backdrop on the world-famous Jumeirah Beach or mix with the cool kite surfers on the aptly named Kite Beach and watch their jaw-dropping moves. The consistently warm waters of the Arabian Gulf make holidays in Dubai a great choice any time of the year, you can even take a jet-ski tour of the city from the water.
In Dubai, anything is possible, and with the opening of its £400m indoor Ski Dubai complex, you can feel real snow under your ski boots when it’s scorching hot outside. This oasis in the desert is located at the unmissable Mall of the Emirates. Ride the Snow Bullet, the world's first indoor sub-zero zip wire, get up close with arctic animals at the Penguin Encounter or just make some snow angels in between shopping.
Make your holiday in Dubai extra special with a moonlit cruise along the Dubai Creek. Sail through the 'city of lights' aboard an authentic wooden Dhow, and enjoy a cup of Arabian coffee and an Arabian buffet dinner. As you cruise along take in iconic landmarks including Sheikh Saeed House, the Old Town and Heritage Village. The onboard entertainment will dazzle you with live performers showcasing Arabian song and dance, and have fun with henna painting and karaoke. It promises to be a night to remember.
Holidays in Dubai are known for picking up unbelievably cheap gold, and the Gold Souk with more than 300 shops and stalls is the perfect place to start. The Souk is located in Dubai's commercial business district, Deira, and the stores also offer platinum, diamonds and silver. But remember, the secret at the Souk is to haggle. Bartering is part of the fun and tradition here, so be brave to get some bargain bling, savvy shoppers come home with gold at half the price tag!
Ramp up the excitement on Dubai holidays by taking a desert safari. Hop into a 4x4 SUV and embark on a daring drive over the dunes, soaking up the scenery as the sun sets. Try sand boarding or swap the car for a camel-ride! Once you reach your desert camp discover more of Dubai’s culture and get decorating with intricate henna hand designs and enjoy a belly dancing display as you devour local delicacies by campfire. If you like heights, book a hot air balloon trip and experience breathtaking views of the desert from high above.
Once you’ve soaked up the sun spend time exploring the shops and souks in the heart of Dubai’s luxury centre, Jumeirah. Whilst a holiday in Dubai offers fantastic retail therapy at magnificent malls, the more intimate markets make for a truly memorable experience. Souk Madinat Jumeirah is crammed with Arabic artisans, stalls and cafés. Visit the Global Village and browse 37 pavilions of handicrafts, pick up everything from pottery to pashminas! Don't miss the daily fireworks display and musical fountain show.
While Dubai has lots of 5-star dining and elegant gourmet restaurants, it's also teeming with authentic, affordable food. Stroll along Al Dhiyafah Road for great value, mouth-watering morsels that will give you a real taste of authentic Arabia on your Dubai holiday. You can't buy alcohol as it's against the law, but instead try some delicious Karak Chai (spiced Arabic tea) or Jellab, a famous local drink that is a mouthwatering blend of grape molasses and rose water.
Within Al-Fahidi Fort, you’ll find the Dubai Museum, which offers a fascinating peek into Dubai’s history and culture. This elegant edifice built in 1800 once protected the city from warring tribal communities. Today it stands proudly as the city’s oldest structure, housing a world of ancient wonders. At the museum explore exhibits about Dubai life and enjoy a huge display of antiquities. A wander through its historic galleries provides a great cultural day.
