Fujairah is home to ancient forts and a plethora of beautiful beaches on the Gulf of Oman, making it perfect for snorkelling, scuba diving, and soaking up the sun. Fujairah holidays invite guests to tour the area’s archaeological sites, home to several significant discoveries.
Fujairah stands out from the arid desert planes with its skyline of mid-rises and office blocks. Fujairah City is at the rugged foothills of the Hajar Mountains and the rolling landscape gives way to the coastline. Fujairah Emirate provides a more laid-back option compared to the modern developments of Dubai.
Fujairah is an ideal pick for solo travellers, couples, and families alike, with every type of visitor being welcomed into the many practised cultures and traditions. Just as the captivating heritage is celebrated, so too is Fujairah’s fairly newfound tourism industry and the entertainment and attractions found here are suitable for all age ranges to enjoy.

Fujairah Fort was built in 1670 and was damaged extensively when the British army attacked in the 20th century. It holds the title for most ancient fort in the UAE and has been used as a dwelling for past ruling families.
Fujairah has been working hard on restoration works and Fujairah Fort is close to its former glory. There is a village surrounding the fort, set up by the Department of Archeology and Heritage of Fujairah, and guests can tour remakes of the ancient houses and agricultural tidbits that show what life would have been like.

The Al-Bidyah Mosque is in the north of Fujairah and is rumoured to be the oldest mosque in the UAE. Keeping the namesake of the long disappeared town which used to surround it, the Al-Bidyah mosque has a fairly sophisticated infrastructure with proper ventilation and Al-Bidyah has many traditional features of Islamic architecture and has grommet patterned tiles, towering domed ceilings, and robust pillars support the interiors.
Archaeologists have dated this tomb back easily 4,000 years searching for evidence of inhabitants and using a nearby tomb to conclude life here dates back as far as 1,000BC.
