Situated along the Persian Gulf, Ajman holidays make for a perfect getaway destination, especially for those who are looking to relax on its spectacular beaches. Boasting a 16km white-sand coastline, which is surrounded by lush natural mangrove forests, plus chic city life further inland - which is just over a 30-minute drive from glamorous Dubai - this scenic resort combines relaxation with exploration, perfectly. It may be the smallest of the seven emirates that make up the UAE, but this destination certainly has a lot to shout about thanks to a new wave of development.
Camel racing, multi-coloured souks and museums allow you to experience the local Arabian culture. The pleasant year-round climate (which shares the same temperatures as neighbouring Dubai) makes holidays to Ajman an ideal choice whether you want a splash of summer or late winter sun, with plenty of activities and things to see and do. Those who want top attractions, incredible wildlife preserves, and high-end hotels can take advantage of the luxurious Al-Zorah development, sure to impress any visitor. Also, one of the most exciting things to do when you’re on Ajman is to experience a desert safari, where you’re likely to spot wildlife, enjoy a camel ride and learn about traditional henna paintings. Adventure seekers can also go a step further and hike to the Hajar mountains, (located very close to Masfout). The main city of Ajman hosts over 90% of the population and offers numerous attractions and beaches, including Ajman Museum, Umm Al-Quwain Fort and Museum, and of course Ajman Beach.
Spend some quality time in the Al Zorah Nature Reserve, which is a must-see if you’re a wildlife fan. It’s a vibrant ecosystem which comprises mangroves, sandy beaches and lagoons. Moreover, it’s home to 60 species of birds including pink flamingos, heron and egret. Children too can have lots of fun and take part in numerous outdoor activities that include diving, sailing, kayaking and kite surfing. You’ll struggle to find a nature reserve like Al Zorah anywhere else in the United Arab Emirates.
One of the best things to do in Ajman (particularly if you’re fairly sporty) is to hike the Hajar Mountains, which stand tall on the UAE and Oman border. Tourists can climb the foot hills at a leisurely pace, and its scenic path is seamless, which is a good trail for beginners. However, you should avoid hiking in summer, as the weather can be extremely broiling. It should be noted that the Hajar Mountains are the Arabian Peninsula’s highest mountain range, which stretches for more than 300 kilometers. Glare the peaks, chasms, gorges and of course its rich culture and the history of its own.
Beaches in Ajman are blessed with glistening blue waters and splendid white sands. The Ajman Beach, which is one of the best in the United Arab Emirates, is not to be missed. Ajman holidays are great for families thanks to its abundance of water and adventure sporting facilities. Those looking to make a splash with the watersports and lounge on powdery white sands without huge crowds are in for a treat
