December to March are the best times to visit Koh Samui when the relatively cooler temperatures are less stifling, there is little chance of rain and you will enjoy 8 hours of sun. October and November represent the rainy season but with temperatures reaching upwards of 30°C even during the fresher months, you can confidently book flights to Koh Samui for most times of the year.

Getting Around Koh Samui

🚌 Transport in the Koh Samui Region

Koh Samui is a fairly compact island with only a few main roads. Getting around on foot is usually your best option for sightseeing. Hiring a motorbike is popular with many tourists and makes navigating around Koh Samui relatively fuss free.

Travelling by bus or carIf you're looking to travel further out, it's recommended to use a song-taew (a passenger van) that collects people going towards the same destination. Car hire is reasonably priced on this small island. Alternatively, private taxis and scooter-taxis are readily available. Drive on the left-hand side.
Passports and Visas
