Getting Around Uva Province

🚌 Transport in the Uva Province Region

The main international airport in Sri Lanka is located just outside the capital Colombo, and whilst it is possible to take short domestic flights to the different parts of the island, these can be quite pricey. Most tourists either take a hotel shuttle or taxi to their preferred destination as these are plentiful and relatively inexpensive. The roads have improved drastically over the last 10-15 years but getting between some inland destinations can take a while so be prepared for some long journeys.

Passports and Visas

British citizens require a tourist visa to visit Sri Lanka and it is recommended to obtain these before travel. You will also need to have 6 months validity on your passport. For more information visit https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/sri-lanka/entry-requirements

Health and Safety

We highly recommend you have full travel and medical insurance for your holiday to Sri Lanka.
