Cheap Holidays to El Albir

Holidays to Albir are all about the sun and the sea. The town of Albir, sandwiched between Benidorm and Altea, is perfectly located for those who wish to take a break from the bustling beaches of Benidorm, and explore a glimpse of Spain's quieter side.

Albir's most popular beach is the 600-metre-long Playa de Raco de l'Albir, it's smooth golden pebbles not compromising its Blue Flag status. Due to it's size, you're sure to find a space to plant your bucket and spade. Step off the beach and into the main town, where you'll find a string of local restaurants, shops and bars ready and waiting. Or, just next door to the sands - and surrounding the mountain of Sierra Helda which backs the beach - you've also got a pretty nature park to wander or hike. For a change of pace, tourist hot spot Benidorm is right around the corner offering a plethora of exciting things to see and do for the whole family.

If you've got the kids in tow, there are a few spectacular theme parks nearby sure to keep little ones (and big ones) entertained beyond the beach. Aqualandia and Terra Mitica - one of Europe's biggest theme parks - are driving distance from the resort.

Albir Beach

Albir Beach

This clean and bright pebble beach has sloping shallow waters that lap a sheltered bay, on the edge of a dreamy nature reserve. The best place to swim is on the west side of the beach, where the sand is thinner and the sea is particularly clear. Bathing shoes are recommended here due to the stones and pebbles, and snorkelling gear is also recommended for a glimpse of the lively underwater world around the rocks. The beach is ideal for those after a quiet retreat amid lush surroundings. Along the promenade there are a handful of restaurants, cafes and even a beach bar that offers live music, so you can have the best of both worlds.

Sierra Helda

Sierra Helda

The Sierra Helada, a natural park which first arose in 2005, starts from Benidorm and Alfaz del Pi separating the bays of Benidorm and Altea. The coastal front of the Sierra Helada has spectacular cliffs of more than 300 meters, which can be seen much better from the sea, where you can spot hanging fossil dunes.
