Getting Around Seychelles

🚌 Transport in the Seychelles Region

Seychelles has a commendable public bus system making travelling Mahe and Praslin simple and convenient, and La Digue is a more or less flat landscape that is well-suited to being explored by bicycle. To island hop, visitors can use the local ferries.

Travelling by bus or carLocal buses are easy and reliable in Seychelles with plenty of information and travel advice available. Car rental is also an option for those wanting to work to their own timetable, but visitors should be warned that the roads in certain areas, like Mahe, can be steep and tight turns are common.  
Passports and Visas

British passport holders do not require a visa to visit Seychelles and passports must be valid only for the duration of your stay in Seychelles no additional time is required.

Health and Safety

Seychelles is a reasonably safe environment although, like any major tourist area, robberies are still known to occur so visitors are advised to take sensible precautions. Drink driving has been noted as an issue so visitors should be aware of other drivers and exercise above average caution, particularly on these hazardous roads.

Vaccinations

Seychelles requires no compulsory vaccinations except for yellow fever when you are travelling from or via an infected area. Hepatitis A, Tetanus, and Typhoid immunisations are all recommended.
