The scenery here is stunning, and as it’s protected, the beauty is here to stay. It’s a migration route for many species of birds, including flamingos and the rare purple swamphen, so take your camera!

There is a good bus network that links the city with the beaches, the suburbs and the local airport. There are also buses and trains that can take you further afield, while taxis are on hand if you need something quick and convenient. Many holidaymakers tend to hire a car as the roads are well marked and easy to navigate.
