Sunbathe in style on your holidays to Golden Sands, Tenerife's sophisticated south coast resort renowned for its luxury villas, designer boutiques and waterfront restaurants. A quieter alternative to Playa De Las Americas, Golden Sands holidays are great for families. Choose between a duo of Blue Flag beaches during the day with a variety of watersports and seaside cafes to enjoy before hitting the lively promenade in the evening, bursting with seafood restaurants and shops.

The lively resort of Playa De Las Americas is about 6.5 km away, while you can walk to the buzzing Veronicas strip in about 30 minutes. Discover the promenade that runs along the resort, starting ahead at Los Cristianos, taking you right into Playa de las Americas and finally to La Caleta. If you pull yourself away from the coast, you can discover the Old Town of Golden Sands, the resort’s administrative centre.

Adventure seekers can brave bungee-jumping at Sky Park. Check out Jungle Park, near Los Cristianos, which is about 5km from Golden Sands, for its falconry show, beautiful nature trails and waterfalls. The Siam Water Park is also walking distance from the resort, at just 1.3 km, and is a hit with kids for its fun-loving water slides, rapids and other exciting attractions. Whatever you're looking for, Golden Sands holidays will deliver sunshine all year round and great beach vibes to match.

A Guide to Kuta Holidays

Take a Day Trip

Drive 30-minutes through fragrant pine forests to reach Vilaflor, the highest village in the region, where a night sky filled with stars awaits you. Here you can enjoy traditional Canarian cooking in cosy restaurants, get a feel for the real Tenerife and explore the stunning National Teide Park, home to the world's third largest volcano. If you have time, make the journey to Masca Valley for gorgeous panoramic views of the sea.

Make a Splash

Siam Park is one of the best on the island and is handily located next to Golden Sands. The Thai-themed waterpark is one of the biggest in Europe and holds the crown for the world's longest lazy river – perfect for the whole family. Adrenaline lovers can try out landmark attractions including the Tower of Power, the Dragon and the vortex-style slide, Volcano, alongside making the most of the family-sized rafts at the Mekong Rapids!

Dinner and Dancing

If you're looking for a lively night on the town, you have two options. Stay in Golden Sands and enjoy its upmarket bars and restaurants or take a short walk into Playa de las Americas and enjoy the livelier, late night clubs there. For those simply after dinner and drinks, the resort has plenty of restaurants that are suitable for the whole family. Head to Harley's American Bar for great food and entertainment, snack on seafood at Carlos' or enjoy traditional Spanish cuisine at Barracuda Barra y Mante.

Hit the Beach

The beaches in and around Golden Sands offer plenty of popular seaside activities such as water-skiing, jet-skiing and parascending. There are also several boat trips that will take you to more secluded coves and great snorkelling spots.

Getting Around Kuta

🚌 Transport in the Kuta Region

Tenerife is easy to navigate with a range of transport readily available here. The public buses are a cheap way for visitors to explore the island, but most holidaymakers tend to use taxis and hire cars as they offer that extra flexibility during your stay. There are numerous cycling and hiking trails for the more adventurous or daily boat services hopping between each island too.

Travelling by bus or carThere are comfortable, air conditioned buses which leave regularly from most of the main resorts and stop at the island’s most famous attractions. The smaller, local buses are slightly less reliable. Hiring a car is cheap, easy and highly recommended. The island’s main roads are easy to navigate and well looked after; the smaller roads can be somewhat of a challenge. Driving is on the right-hand side.
