It’s no surprise Alykanas holidays are a popular choice among families and couples. This sea village is a stone’s throw from pretty Alykes village and is rich with hotels, nightlife and entertainment. The quaint town has a cosmopolitan feel and is the perfect place to unwind and relax.
Alykanas is a small town situated on the lovely Greek Island of Zakynthos, but don’t worry – its slow pace is a far cry from the livelier resort towns popular with the 18-30 crowd. Holidays to Alykanas are spectacular if you desire picturesque beaches with impressive ocean views, amazing mountain trails and cosy villages. On your Alykanas Holidays, the fine sandy beaches offer impressive views of the mountainous backdrop, and many are Blue Flag certified – ideal if you’re travelling with the kids. The resort is surrounded by lush tropical olive groves and vineyards, and the Old Town is not far from the main beach, complete with a main square and a church.
If you wish to discover the resort’s history, visit the 16th century St. John the Baptist monastery and wonderful Navagio Shipwreck Beach, which looks like something on the front of a postcard. Another amazing must-see is the Skinari Lighthouse. Both the shipwreck beach and the lighthouse are about 12km from Alykanas, but are definitely worth the visit. You’ll find a cluster of local restaurants, cafés, bars and shops in the town centre, all of which accommodate children with play areas and kids’ menus available – so you can be sure however you spend your evenings, everyone will be happy.

Alykanas has some of the best beaches in Zante. Most of the beaches here are Blue Flag Certified - making them a great shout for kids to paddle and swim in. There are plenty of avenues for you to enjoy jet skiing, parasailing, a new flyboard experience, water skiing, kite surfing, scuba diving and much more. You can also head out to the beautiful, and famous, Shipwreck Beach - be sure to make a reservation for the boat at least a day in advance though.

Alykanas centre has several shops that sell souvenirs, gifts, jewellery, leather products, handmade goods and beyond etc. Indulge in local sweets including the Pasteli (sesame seed candy) and Mantolato (nougat). The local souvenir shops here sell vases, sculptures and paintings of the island. The town also has a handful of supermarkets and shops that sell everyday items.
