During the summer months (as the tourist season reaches its peak), many international and charter flights arrive directly at the Skiathos Airport. The warmest months to visit Skiathos are June, July and August, but you'll be met by pleasant climates most of the year - except winter. During the summer months, temperatures can reach a balmy 30°C during the day, which dips slightly below 25°C during the evenings. The Skiathos International Airport is located on the eastern side of the island and is just 3km from the resort, plus there are regular connecting flights from Athens to Skiathos - perfect if you want to explore the city before heading to the coast.

Getting Around Skiathos

🚌 Transport in the Skiathos Region

The island is fairly easy to get around, with a range of transport options available. If you wish to explore the less developed northern side of the island, hiring a car is recommended. There is an abundance of taxis, but agree a fare before you set off. There are also buses that can get you from A to B cheaply as well as traditional Greek ‘kaiki’ boats and water taxis.

Travelling by bus or carThere is a good network of buses that can help you to navigate the island, with the main one running from Skiathos Town to Koukounaries, taking approximately half an hour. Bus travel is inexpensive. You can hire a car from the airport or from within your resort. it is a great way to explore the island independently and is a great way of discovering the beaches and coves. Drive on the right.
