Cheap Holidays to Lindos

Laid-back Lindos is a jewel in Rhodes’ crown, radiating traditional charm, pretty beaches and candy-coloured villages - perfect for those dreaming of relaxing Greece holidays. This national treasure is jam-packed with quaint hilltop houses, sweeping bays and ancient sites, including the famous Acropolis, offering plenty of variety when it comes to things to see and do on Lindos holidays.

Pallas and St. Pauls are the town's two beautiful beaches, stocked with sunbeds, watersports, a natural harbour, glass bottom boat trips and a string of nearby cafes and bars. Lindos holidays make a great base for family-friendly day trips too, the island's cultural capital of Rhodes Town is an hour's drive away where boutiques and cafés sit alongside 14th Century relics, galleries and pretty shaded squares. If you want to see more of the surrounding island by boat, sail over to Agathi beach where you can snorkel in the shallow waters and grab a spot of lunch. Get lost in the village's winding alleyways and admire the traditional captain's houses with their grand front doors and potter in and out of the quaint souvenir shops.

In the evening, wine and dine with beautiful vistas of the Aegean Sea in the beachfront Kyma Restaurant or Melenos Lindos Hotel where you can expect spectacular dishes such as soupiorizo (squid risotto), colourful Greek salads, spicy meatballs and plenty of fresh seafood. The best time to go on holidays to Lindos is during early autumn. September, October and November experience pleasant weather, but visit any later and the weather starts to get wetter. Diagoras Airport is the nearest airport to Lindos, at a distance of 35km from the town. Grab a spectacular deal and getaway to this gorgeous Greek isle.

If you’re feeling up to the challenge, you can hike to the top of the hill to the Acropolis, but it’s not for the faint-hearted! Instead, ride one of the ever-faithful donkeys who will do the hard work for you. At the top, take your pick of historical marvels, including a Roman temple, church and an ancient fortress.

The cobbled streets of Lindos are like a maze of winding alleyways and narrow lanes that hold all manner of tavernas, cafes and shops. Enjoy a leisurely stroll around them, pick up some local wares and grab some lunch. There are free maps available yet the streets aren’t named, but we're sure you won't mind getting lost here!

Explore Under the Sea in St. Paul’s Bay

The main beach in Lindos can get overcrowded very quickly, but if you head down the road to neighbouring St. Paul’s Beach you’ll be met by a tranquil setting for your day on the sands. You'll find amazing snorkelling opportunities here, so grab a snorkel and get exploring the deep blue sea!

Getting Around Lindos

🚌 Transport in the Lindos Region

Lindos is easily explored on foot and blissfully traffic-free. There are buses that serve Lindos and taxis are available in most nearby resorts – some of which will stop and ask if you’d like to share with current passengers, to save you waiting for a bus. If you're visiting the Acropolis but don't fancy the hike, you can hop on a donkey and ride to the top!

Travelling by bus or car There is a regular bus network that services Lindos and connects you with many of the towns and resorts across the island. It’s an inexpensive way to travel, but buses are not always on time. Check with your hotel for up to date timetables. If you decide to hire a car to explore the rest of Rhodes, park on the outside of the village and head in on foot as Lindos is traffic-free. Driving is on the right-hand side.
