Just a half-an-hour journey away from Kolymbia is Rhodes town; which it’s well worth a visit with the family. Wander leisurely as you try and find your way through the tangle of Medieval streets in the Old Town. Watch the kids gasp in awe as they set their eyes on Mussolini’s old pad, the Palace of the Grand Masters, and the cobbled Street of the Knights. While you’re there, you’ll most likely want to do a spot of shopping too; and there’s plenty of places in Rhodes Town that make you want to shop until you drop!

Haggle On Eucalyptus Road

Let your kids see the fun side of shopping as you haggle your way through this 2-kilometre stretch of shopping heaven. Brimming with local craft places, jewellery stores and mini-markets for stocking up on picnic treats, you can really make a day of it on Eucalyptus Road. The shopkeepers here speak very good English and they welcome a bit of good-natured haggling. Whatever bargains you grab (or not), one thing’s for certain – this will be the most fun shopping trip you’ve had in a while!

Go To A Rhodes Rock Gig!

If you’re a musical family, then a visit to Rhodes Rocks is a must-do! Back in the 1960s, Rhodes was the place to be for musicians (Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour still owns a pad in Rhodes!). Today, the place enjoys an annual splashing of rock with a line-up of tribute bands performing classics from the likes of Queen, Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones. There are three big shows to watch, as well as VIP gigs going on all around town. The beautiful island of Rhodes comes with plenty to see, so you’ll want to get around as easily as possible (especially if you’re traveling with little ones!). Kolymbia is a great base to explore the Island whether you go on foot or by car/bus.

Travelling by bus or car Buses run frequently throughout Kolymbia and you can also use the popular Kiwitaxi if you're travelling from the resort into Rhodes' City and the neighbouring resorts such as Faliraki etc. If you want to explore more of what the island has in store, it's also really easy to rent a car. Auto Tour Rent is in the centre of Kolymbia where you’ll find a selection of brand new cars at low cost.

Passports and Visas

You don’t need a visa to visit Kolymbia but you do need to make sure you have a valid passport that will remain valid for at least 6 months following your holiday.
