Situated about 11km from Kos Town and 7km north of Asfendiou village, this popular holiday resort has undergone a lot of development during the past decades, especially along its long golden coastline on the northern part of the island. Holidays to Tingaki offer a variety of accommodation close to the beach and in the surrounding area, along with a very serene, traffic-free environment, made Tingaki one of the most popular family resorts on the Kos island. If you’re a family of foodies, Tingaki ticks that box, too! From fresh fish at the taverns and local or European cuisine alternatives to snacks bars and fast food, Tingaki has everything you need and more to satisfy those hungry appetites!

Does the perfect holiday consist of care-free family days on a glorious beach? If so, you’ve found the right place with Tingaki! You and your little ones can enjoy swimming, sunbathing and sports on the resort’s stunning sandy beach with its crystal-clear waters. Renowned for its cleanliness and excellent organisation and facilities, Tingaki beach has racked up more than a few Blue Flag awards in its time. And when you’ve had enough of swimming and sunbathing, you and your family can take a stroll around the many interesting places around the area.  Why not spend the afternoon at “Alikes”, a wonderful nearby wetland? Or perhaps you’re feeling more adventurous and fancy venturing slightly further out to the many little villages that offer lots of interesting things to see and do.

Visit The Asfendiou Villages

Visit The Asfendiou Villages

No family holiday to Tingaki is complete without a day trip to the charming collection of Asfendiou Villages. Hugging the stunning northern slopes of Mount Dijajo, this incredibly cute collection of hamlets can be found just a ten-minute drive away from Tingaki. The villages, which are full of brightly coloured painted churches and pretty little cobbled streets, have barely changed in the past decade and attract hoards of visitor's year in, year out. Make Zia your final stop – the picturesque terraced cafes here are in the prime position for some of the best sunset views in the country.

The Antimachia Honey Festival

With its mystical Medieval castle ruins and ancient windmill, the inland village of Antimachia, about 12km southwest of Tingaki, is truly worth a visit during your family holiday. But if you go during the Honey Festival, you can spend the day tasting mouth-watering treats such as honey-laden pancakes, and doughnuts with honey and watermelon – the dream! You and your family can also have oodles of fun enjoying the traditional music and dancing your socks (or should we say sandals) off!

Thrills And Spills Kitesurfing

Want to be the coolest mum or dad and really impress your little ones? Why not try your hand at kitesurfing during your family holiday? With its shallow waters and onshore breeze, Tingaki beach offers the perfect conditions for kitesurfing. Just think of the look of delight on your children’s faces when they see you bouncing along the waters’ ripples! There are other watersports on offer too, and you can hire all the kit you need on the beach. (There are no excuses now!)

Tingaki's Beach

Visit Tinagki's 6km stretch of sand for a day of splash-tastic fun in the sun. The resort's main beach is a hot spot for sunbathers and watersports enthusiasts, with plenty of thrills and spills on offer. When you're not soaking up the rays on a sun lounger, try your hand at windsurfing or waterskiing - and beginners can rest assured as there's a surf school available for those after a helping hand. Cool off afterwards with a light bite in one of the tavernas that back the beach.
