Nestled on the northeast coast of Kos Island, the capital of Kos Town is an ideal spot for those seeking a blissful beach escape in the sun. The abundance of child-friendly towns make family holidays here a great choice, with warm golden beaches and bright turquoise sands never too far away.

Kos island is located right in the middle of the Dodecanese chain of Greek islands that encompass the Turkish coastline, between Rhodes and Patmos. And when it comes to those dream beach retreats that all the family love, Kos Town holidays are one of the best there is.

Brimming with ancient history, holidays to Kos Town promise some of the most intriguing sights anywhere in the Greek Islands. As the island’s capital, Kos Town also offers some of the world’s most fascinating museums (wait until your children tell their teachers what they discovered on their Kos holidays!), but if museums aren’t your style, you can visit the Odeum, a wonderful ancient roman theatre built in the third century, or hop across to the charming Ancient Town where you can get your fill of history with Greece’s most fabulous ruins.

Of course, Kos Town isn’t all about history; it’s bursting with modern attractions too! With plenty of shops, restaurants and entertainment to tickle your fancy, the world is yours for the taking in this popular holiday hotspot. Your little ones will especially enjoy the wide range of exciting water and beach activities on offer – Zouroudi Beah a highlight in the town centre. Whatever your tastes and whatever your idea of a perfect getaway, holidays to Kos Town have something for everyone.

    Exciting Lambi Beach

Kos Town holidays are all about family fun, and there’s plenty of that to be had at the nearby Lambi Beach! About 10 minutes out of town, this kilometre-long stretch of soft golden sand with a bit of shingle is a must-go for anyone looking for that extra thrill. This uber family-friendly beach offers everything from white knuckle windsurfing and jet-skiing to serene paragliding and pedalo boats. You may even get free sun loungers and bar service if you pay a few euros to access the parts of the beach that are exclusive to the surrounding hotels! It’s well worth a ten-minute journey.

Back In Time At Casa Romana

Tap into the kids’ imaginations (and impress their history teachers) when you book one of our Kos Town holidays. Pay a visit to the stunningly restored 3rd century Casa Romana and time-hop all the way back to see how ruling Romans lived in luxury. Set around three beautiful courtyards, you can look on in awe at 36 incredibly decorated rooms filled with mosaics, frescoes, sculptures and paintings. It costs under 3 euros to explore this historical monument, and the villa is open every day except Monday.

If you’re a foodie, Kos Town is the place to be. Symi shrimps, which are the local specialty (and are just too good not to try), make a regular appearance around Kos Town. While we’re talking seafood, you can order the “catch of the day” by the kilo at many of Kos Town’s swanky sea-view restaurants – offering a gorgeous view to match. There are also many traditional cafes and tavernas in the Old Town if you’re looking for cheaper eats. A great holiday comes with great food, and there is plenty of that on offer in Kos Town!

    Nightlife & Entertainment

Whether you want to wine and dine by the waterfront, let your hair down in one of the resort’s nightclubs or simply enjoy some after dinner entertainment – Kos Town will have the answer. Many of the resort’s clubs, bars and tavernas attract a slightly younger crowd and are open until the early hours in bustling Bar Street, while the harbour and up to the central square of Eleftherias has quaint cocktail lounges to indulge in.
