Cheap Holidays to Kavos

Kavos is a bubbly beach resort located on the island of Corfu, Greece, popular with the 18-30 crowd for its late-night bars, golden beaches and lively booze cruises. While the thriving nightlife is undeniably the main attraction during Kavos holidays, there's plenty more to the island that makes it a top family holiday choice in Corfu, too. Towering white cliffs line the golden sandy beach and the turquoise sea is brimming with fun-loving watersports from banana rides to jet-skis and boat trips.

Most of the action takes place on the main strip, where you'll find a wealth of shops, restaurants, buzzing bars and clubs which come alive once the sun sets – if you're visiting on a party holiday with friends, head to Atlantis where the party spills out onto the beach and a bonfire flares until the sun rises. You'll find plenty of cheap hotels and apartments available during your holidays to Kavos, so you can choose to stay in the midst of the action or just outside of the resort's hustle and bustle.

If you're visiting with family, take a day trip to the island's calmer capital Corfu Town, just an hour's drive away, where you can wander the cobbled old town, admire the historic fortresses and shop for locally made ceramics and embroidered textures in the boutique shops and stalls. Or if you fancy a boat trip without the booze, sail across to the pretty island of Paxos where a 30-minute journey will whisk you off to quaint Grecian villages, lush olive groves and waterfront tavernas. With a host of fantastic eateries, a lively beach scene and enough day trips and activities to keep all ages entertained, holidays to Kavos make great-value Greek getaways.

A Guide to Kavos Holidays

Kavos Beach

Kavos Beach

While this action-packed beach can be busy, its 8km stretch of soft sand means there's enough sunloungers to go around. In true Kavos style, you'll find some whacky watersports to try out if you fancy making a splash, but expect to hear a lot of shrieking with jet-skis, banana boats, doughnut rings and even bungee jumping on offer! All this activity is thirsty work, so stop and refuel at one of the lively beachside bars.

Day Trip to Corfu

Day Trip to Corfu

Less than a one-hour drive will take you to Corfu town, the island's calmer capital with an Old Fortress, iconic buildings, spectacular shopping and elegant restaurants and cafés. Go horse-riding through the lush rolling hills and stop to admire views of pretty bays and grand gorges. Hit the main street of Odos N. Teotoki and browse ceramics, sculptures, embroidered textiles and leather goods.

Hit the Kavos Strip

Hit the Kavos Strip

Most of the action in Corfu's party capital can be found in one place, the main strip, located just behind the beach. This famous stretch is where you'll find a wealth of pubs, clubs and bars that are buzzing with activity from dusk until dawn. There's often exciting events, world-class DJs and rep-guided pub crawls on offer too – particularly if you're on an 18-30's holiday. Don’t miss the sunrise sessions at Atlantis, where the party spills out onto the beach as the sun rises.

Take a Booze Cruise

Take a Booze Cruise

No holiday to Kavos is complete without a day of booze, beaches and boats. On trips like the ones run by Kavos Booze Cruise you’ll have a beach BBQ, water fights and a foam party, followed by a ‘rave in a cave’. This all happens before 5.30pm, giving you just enough time for a quick pre-party nap before you head out again!

Getting Around Kavos

🚌 Transport in the Kavos Region

Taxis and buses are available for transfer from the airport and once you reach the resort, everything is within walking distance. If you do want to drive, it's easy to pick up a car at the airport.

Travelling by bus or car Buses in Kavos are cheap and you can get to Corfu Town in about half an hour but check for timetables. If you’re planning on hitting the beach by day and bars by night though, you probably won’t want to leave the resort! Car hire is easy to arrange, but with all that partying you probably won’t have time for much island exploring! If you do hire a vehicle for any reason, look out for crowds along the strip and remember to stick to the right-had side.
