  • Sidero BeachAccessible by boat only, this tiny patch of beach lies behind the old fortress.
  • Anemomilos BeachRight by the windmill (Anemomilos is Greek for windmill), this beach features a concrete pier with steps you can take down into the sea.
  • Kontra Fossa BeachKontra Fossa is a small, untouched and pebbly beach with no amenities to speak of. It is located on the other side of the fortress.
  • Barbati BeachDrive half an hour to reach the sheltered beach of Barbati. With a slightly pebbly shoreline, this long beach with calm waters is a popular choice for families.
  • Agios Spiridon BeachAs Corfu Town does not offer the best beaches, it’s worth the 40 minute drive to the northwest to spend a day at this sheltered stretch of sand. This is the main and largest beach of Paleokastritsa, so it can get crowded.
  • Glyfada BeachImmaculate and boasting Blue Flag status for its pristine waters, the soft white sand is backed by picturesque cliff-sides. It’s 30 minutes from Corfu Town and has plenty of beachfront bars and restaurants, as well as fantastic water sport activities.
  • Mirtiotissa BeachA little further up the coast from Glyfada beach, lies Mirtiotissa beach. With a rocky seabed and crystal clear waters, this beach is a great spot for snorkelling.
  • Kontogialos BeachSafe, sheltered and golden sands. The view of this beach from the costal road is spectacular as it is lined with luscious olive groves. Be sure to stop and take a photo.

Getting Around Corfu Town

🚌 Transport in the Corfu Town Region

Tenerife is easy to navigate with a range of transport readily available here. The public buses are a cheap way for visitors to explore the island, but most holidaymakers tend to use taxis and hire cars as they offer that extra flexibility during your stay. There are numerous cycling and hiking trails for the more adventurous or daily boat services hopping between each island too.

Travelling by bus or carThere are comfortable, air conditioned buses which leave regularly from most of the main resorts and stop at the island’s most famous attractions. The smaller, local buses are slightly less reliable. Hiring a car is cheap, easy and highly recommended. The island’s main roads are easy to navigate and well looked after; the smaller roads can be somewhat of a challenge. Driving is on the right-hand side.
