Located in the Balearic Islands archipelago near the southern coast of Spain, Majorca (or Mallorca) is perfect for soaking up the summer sun. Nestled between the islands of Ibiza and Menorca, this popular resort is well connected to the continent by regular international flights and ferry services from both Barcelona and Valencia in mainland Europe.
Majorca holidays appeal to everyone – from sun seekers to watersports lovers. Holidaymakers will find this island to be the perfect place for a short-haul trip, especially during the months of July and August, when days are warm and nights are pleasant. With a great choice of popular resorts such as Alcúdia, Cala d’Or and the island’s cultural capital Palma, holidays to Majorca offer plenty of variety – you can treat the family to a fun-filled holiday or enjoy a couples retreat in the Med, instead.
There is plenty to do and see during your Majorca holidays – from enjoying the utter idyll of the sandy beaches and the rugged mountains of Serra de Tramuntana to admiring the stalactite and stalagmite-filled caves of Lake Martel and celebrating the festival of Sant Bartomeu in August. With both luxury hotels as well as budget-friendly hostels dotting the seaside, there is a place for everyone to stay on this island, so you can snap up a last minute deal to Majorca without a worry. Whisk yourself away to this sun-drenched Spanish shore and you'll soon find out why it's one of the best in the Balearics.
Why book Majorca holidays?
When to go
Majorca’s Mediterranean climate makes it a fantastic year-round holiday destination, with plenty of warm sunshine throughout the year. If you’re a sunseeker, the best time of year for a holiday to Majorca is during the summer months, from June to September. The weather then is very warm. If you prefer slightly cooler weather, visit Majorca in autumn or spring. October is very pleasant, with daytime highs of 24°C and night-time lows of 14°C. You’ll find less tourists here at this time of year as well, ideal if you’d like to avoid the busiest times
BEST OF THE
Planning a holiday is always an exciting time, but knowing where to start can often cause confusion.
