A Bit About Me

I am a travel writer based in Bath and I specialise in family travel. I have three children aged from eight to 13 and we love to get off the beaten track, whether it’s shopping for souvenirs in a prison in the Cook Islands or taking the night train between Moscow and St Petersburg. We like to have adventures wherever we go and travel to far flung destinations like Aruba and Vietnam but also love finding great places to enjoy closer to home too, from exploring the world of LEGO in Denmark to travelling to the Shetland Islands at the very top of the UK.

You can follow me on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Always travel with a sense of humour. If you take your sense of humour with you and go with the flow no matter what, you’re sure to have a good time.

The Hidden Gems I’ve Found

“Look out for the chocolate cafe in the centre of Havana.”

New Smyrna Beach in Florida is a real taste of old school America but close enough to the theme parks of Orlando to enjoy that side of the state too.

Look out for the chocolate cafe in the centre of Havana. As well as having amazing chocolate (their chocolate milk is delicious), you can also find out about the history of this sweet stuff too.

Seek out bambalouni in Tunisia - delicious sugary doughnuts that are super cheap and additive.

My Favourite Destinations

My Dream Destinations

There are so many places I still want to visit from the Maldives (which I know is seen as a honeymoon destination but has some amazing family-friendly resorts) to Thailand (visited before kids but would love to take them) and Mexico (another location we’d love to return to with children).
