I caught the travel bug as a child when our family would take long camping holidays in Europe, and over the years I’ve enjoyed the different perspectives on the world that travel can give you. I love to travel with my husband but also with my grown up kids, parents or friends and sometimes solo. I try to bring my readers along with me to taste the food, explore the culture, go hiking and cycling and experience a luxury cruise or boutique hotel.

I always check my weather app a few days before a trip. It means I’m prepared for rain showers or heat waves but don’t pack things that I’ll never end up using.
The Hidden Gems I’ve Found
“I love to explore each destination through its food.”
I love to explore each destination through its food, so you’ll often find me in a local market or on a food tour, seeking out recommendations on the local dishes and special produce that are the delicacies of the region.
My Favourite Destinations
Bristol, UK
Bristol is my hometown in the West Country and I love the creative atmosphere, with its buzzing arts scene, plenty of green spaces, stylish cafes and maritime heritage around the harbour.
Zakynthos, Greece
I’ve been visiting Zakynthos, Greece for years, since my sister lives there, and we always love relaxing, swimming and lazy lunches by the sea in the sunshine.
Austria
I love hiking in the mountains and Austria has so many gorgeous lakes and mountains scenery, combined with great food and culture for those Sound of Music moments.
My Dream Destinations
I seem to gravitate towards the sun, so the Caribbean is my dream winter sun destination. I've visited several of the Caribbean islands and am struck by the different character of each one - but there are plenty more that I still have on my wish list.
