TIPS FOR TRAVEL BLOGGERS DURING THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC
It’s a tough time for everyone right now, and us travel bloggers are suffering in ways we could never have predicted before the coronavirus hit.
I live in North East England but am originally from the Isle of Man. I’m a full time travel blogger and am obsessed with good food and drink, books and planning my next trip.
I’ve visited over 50 countries and have lived in Edinburgh, New York City and Dubai. My first big adventure was travelling around New Zealand, Australia’s East Coast, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand for three months. I’m happy to travel solo but sometimes my partner comes along for the ride.
I write about UK adventures as well as destinations further afield, and I cover a mix of luxury experiences and intrepid adventures. I’m always open to new things!

“The best moments of any trip are the ones you weren’t expecting.”
I’ve been lucky enough to experience some truly incredible destinations. I once accidentally ended up sleeping solo in a traditional wooden longhouse in the Borneo jungle. In terms of hidden gems, my latest discovery was Cajun Mardi Gras in Louisiana. Everyone knows about New Orleans’ carnival, but have you heard of Lafayette’s?
I recently spent two memorable summer nights glamping in Perthshire, Scotland. I love exploring less touristy parts of the UK – there’s so much on our doorstep!
My fiance and I did some backpacking around India and we fell head over heels for Goa – especially Palolem, which is in the north. It attracts independent travellers but is pleasingly peaceful. There’s a palm-fringed white beach lined with beach shacks, and all of them serve the most delicious local food. I could have stayed there forever.
I did a road trip through Turkey that ended in Cappadocia. It’s a magical place and is famous for the hot air balloons; Cappadocia’s landscape is like nowhere else on earth. It’s well worth getting up before sunrise so you can see the jaw-dropping morning balloons as they glide through the air.
Marrakech has so much personality. The heaving souks, the pulsating main square after nightfall – and of course, those stunning riads! There’s so much more to this destination than what you see on Instagram though. I’d love to go back one day.
I’ve got my sights set on seeing more of the USA in the next few years and would love to holiday in Mykonos or Santorini one day. So much to see, so little time!
