Great Things to Do
Whether you’re there for the bars, or you’d prefer to browse the bazaars and unwind on the beach, Gumbet is a must-visit, for lots of reasons.
Hop from Bar to Bar
Bar Street is home to the main ‘strip’ in Gumbet, where bars flood out onto the pavements. But that’s not where the pubs and bars stop; there are more just off Bar Street that are ideal if you fancy a dance, while the beach road has some chilled out offerings if you need a night off from hard-core partying.
See the Countryside by Jeep
If you feel like getting away from the resort for a day, a jeep safari is a fun way of doing so. Head inland on a jeep, through the rural countryside and lush hills, and have a thrilling time. Prepare to get a bit dusty! You may wish to treat yourself to a Turkish bath the next day so that you can unwind after all the action!
Eat Where the Locals Eat
In Gumbet, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to restaurants. There are plenty that dish up top notch fare, but if you want to eat cheaply and well you should keep an eye out for the more authentic places, such as Seray Zetas and Bella Zin, where the locals can be found tucking into kebabs and stuffed dolmas.
Head under the Sea at the Big Reef
Whether you’re a complete beginner or have dived before, the scuba facilities around Gumbet are excellent. The Big Reef is an orange coral reef located a short boat ride away from Gumbet, where you can swim amongst the technicolour marine life including parrot fish, barracuda, and maybe even an octopus hiding in the coral!
