Getting Around

Almeria is home to the area’s airport so transferring to and from your hotel couldn't be easier! There are taxis, buses and shuttles in operation. Once in Almeria, if your hotel is in a central location, many attractions will be accessible on foot. If not, ask reception to call you a taxi. The town has a good local bus service and it’s also worth considering a guided tour as a hassle-free way of exploring the city and beyond.

Almeria's Eight Beaches

Almeria boasts no less than eight beaches where tourists and locals mingle as they enjoy some downtime in the sun. The beaches get busy but they’re clean and the sheer choice means there’s usually room to spread out. And because you’re in the city, you’re never too far from a beach bar, shop or café.

Visit the Ancient Ensemble of La Alcazaba

Like most Spanish cities, Almeria has a long and interesting history with the architecture to prove it. For a glimpse into Almeria’s past, head to the 10th century Monumental Ensemble of La Alcazaba. There are steep steps but you’ll be rewarded by stunning views of the city. The cathedral is well worth a visit too.
