Nini drew her inspiration from the centuries of wine production on the island together with the influence of each season.Born in Funchal in 1964 and trained in Design at Lisbon’s Institude of Art and Design (IADE), Nini Andrade Silva has worked in New York, London and Paris and now actually lives between Lisbon and Funchal where she has two studios.With The Vine, Nini has added to her growing collection of awards. At the 2009 European Property Awards she received ‘Best Hotel Interior Design’ and shortly after received the award for ‘Best Suites’ at the 2009 European Hotel Design Awards. In 2009, The Vine was also runner-up in both the World Architecture Festival and the International Property Awards for ‘Best Interiors and Fit Out’ and Hotel Interior Design, respectively. Ricardo Bofill Levi Designed by the world famous Catalan architect, Ricardo Bofill in collaboration with architect João Francisco Caires, The Vine Hotel has a refined ambience of sophistication and exuberance taking on the unmistakable style of the Spanish architect, giving maximum representation to post-modern contemporary architecture. Winner of various awards, Ricardo Bofill is one the most highly regarded architects on the world stage. Born in Barcelona in 1939, his studies began at High School in France and then at the Technical College of Architecture in Barcelona. Shortly after, he took his studies to the next level in Switzerland at Geneva University.

Adding to the numerous culinary awards, Westermann is the Chairman of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Cuisine Française, the first culinary organization to include 80 of the best haute cuisine chefs. THOMAS FAUDRY - EXECUTIVE CHEF Executive Chef Thomas Faudry brings a wealth of experience to The Vine. After completing his Baccalaureat at the Lycee Professionnel Hotelier de Poitiers, Thomas gained much of his experience in Michelin rated restaurants throughout Europe and was a semi finalist at the Councour de Cuisine in 2005. In 2007 and 2008 Thomas focused his learning on the different interpretations of Antoine Westermann’s cuisine at Le Drouant, Mon Viel Ami and Le Buerehiesel in Strasbourg and most recently at Fortaleza do Guincho in Cascais, Portugal.
