Housed in the former Renaissance palace of Prospero Provano, the Pod Roza hotel offers luxurious rooms for couples looking for a romantic escapade in the city as well as for guests visiting Krakow on business. The Pod Roza hotel, located a few steps away from the Market Square is the oldest hotel in Krakow. The beautiful rooms are elegantly decorated, combining traditional style with contemporary amenities. The hotel boasts a fitness and wellness centre on the 4th floor. Guests can exercise at the glass-covered gym, which offers panoramic views of the Old Town, and relax at the Spa, equipped with a sauna, a steam room and a salt cave. The hotel restaurant, situated on the interior courtyard, serves a continental breakfast buffet every morning. One of the hotel's restaurants specialises in traditional Polish cuisine, while at the other restaurant, guests will be able to taste the finest Italian dishes.
This hotel is located in a prime position on one of the busy streets leading off the famous market square which is just a hundred metres away.
The rooms are in exceptional condition. They are decorated in classical style in keeping with the rest of this historic property, but enjoy up to date facilities as the building was only restored to its present state quite recently. Most of the rooms are medium sized, though some are large. Those on the top floors can be a little smaller, but the compensation for this is their cosy sloping ceilings, beautiful views out over the surrounding rooftops of old Krakow and the fact that they are quieter.
The restaurant is located just off the lobby under a huge glass roof in what was once the building's back yard. It is a charming and stylish bistro, serving a fine buffet breakfast and snacks, drinks and meals all day.
This historic townhouse blends in beautifully with its elegant neighbours. The entrance is both grand and understated and surprsingly easy to miss!
The lobby is small, but elegant with a very high ceiling and gleaming polished wood reception desk. There is plentiful seating next door in the restaurant.
This delightful historical hotel is the perfect place to stay for those who want not only to visit Krakow, but to truly experience it, by staying in the city's heart in one of the city's oldest and grandest hotels. Highly recommended. RY0608
