The lovely resort of Sidari on Corfu’s north coast is an ideal place to get the best of the Greek island experience. It stays true to its humble fishing village roots with a lovely harbour and welcoming feel, but far from being a sleepy backwater, these days Sidari offers a good choice of quality low rise accommodation and lots of great places to eat, drink and dance the night away.

Great Things to Do

Whether you want the pace of your holiday to be laid back or lively, Sidari’s got everything you need for a sun drenched week or two away from it all.

Three of the Best Beaches

Sidari’s main beach is a vision of Blue Flag sandy loveliness, and where most tourists flock to hire a stripy sunlounger, soak up the summer rays and dip their toes in the sea before enjoying a waterside lunch. However there are also smaller, shinglier beaches to the east and west of the main beach, which are well worth a visit.

Plan a Big Night Out

Sidari is full of great bars with resident DJs where you can dance the night away. Stop for a cocktail or two at Mojitos before heading to Sugar nightclub for a boogie. For something different, why not do your souvenir shopping at night? Or venture down the side streets to find traditional tavernas and Greek dancing.

Swim the Channel of Love

The Canal D’Amour is worth visiting for its name alone! This natural phenomenon is made up of rock formations that cut through the sparkling Ionian Sea making channels. Legend has it that couples who swim here together will always stay together, so only go for a dip with your other half if you’re sure they’re a keeper!

Have Fun in the Water

Sidari Waterpark is free to residents of the adjacent hotel and is a great option for a cheap family day out for non-residents. The main beach is the place to hire a pedalo or have a trip on a banana boat. If you want to get up close and personal with the local marine life, Blue Paradise Scuba Diving Center is the place to go.

Getting Around

The journey to Sidari should take just over an hour from the airport. You can book a hire car to pick up on arrival. Otherwise you can pre book your transfer online or get a taxi or a bus. Once in the resort, it’s easy to get around on foot, and moped hire is widely available. This can be a fun way of getting from A to B but don’t forget to wear a helmet. Taxis are also a good option.

By Bus

The local green KTEL buses run regularly from Sidari to the historic capital Corfu Town in the summer months. From there you can connect to most places of interest on the island including Kavos and Kassiopi.

By Car

Car hire is a great option for anyone who wants to explore the rest of this large and lovely Greek island. Rural roads can be narrow and winding but as long as you’re careful and drive on the right, you should be fine.
