One of the most prestigious hotels in Germany and highly recommended.
The hotel has three restaurants; the Polynesian restaurant "Trader Vic's" which is a themed in Polynesian style, 'the Garden Restaurant', with wall paintings and an old well, which is now filled with flowers and the "Palais Keller" which is a traditional Bavarian restaurant. The breakfast room is on the top floor with large windows and balconies, serving outside in the summer months. This is a grand, white, five storey building. The facade is an architectural treat with beautifully restored cornicing and carved stonework. The medium sized lobby and extensive public lounges adjoining it are furnished with antique furniture and large thick carpets. The lobby was renovated in 1999 and staircases are now leading up to the first floor to several seating areas which is ideal to enjoy afternoon tea or simply a cup of coffee in an elegant surrounding. On the whole it is very traditional in style and beautifully maintained.
The hotel is centrally located overlooking a peaceful leafy square in one of Munich's most desirable shopping and business areas.
On average the rooms are large. All are in exceptional condition though the style of the decor varies a good deal. The furnishings and style of the rooms is traditional. The hotel also has many novelty suites, which have a themed decor. The bathrooms are also in exceptional condition.
