Aldea Bella is a beautiful Mediterranean style complex situated on Gran via Del Salobrar aprox 500 yards from the beach.
Santa Ponsa is where King James 1 ( Jaume 1 ) landed in September 1229 in his endeavors to take over the island from the Moors who had previously enjoyed 300 years of Muslim rule. Following James’ conquest Mallorca became part of the Kingdom of Arragon and later became part of Spain. At the entrance to the marina in Santa Ponsa there is a cross marking the place where James landed. Make sure if you are here in September that you join in the Fiesta to commemorate the landing with music, fireworks and a mock battle between the Christians and the Moors.
The bar/ shop is more commonly known as Miguel’s.The family run Bar/Shop has been owned by Miguel and his family for many years. Miguel is fluent in English and has a hint of a Scottish accent from his years running the shop in Aldea Bella!Miguel’s offers a variety of hot foods and snacks, including familiar British items. Also available is draft beer, drinks, ice lollies and a selection of everyday essentials.

The Santa Ponsa / Calvia area
Santa Ponsa is situated 20 minutes from Palma in the South East part of the island, reknown for its sunny and hot climate, protected by the mountains on the west of the island. This means that often it will be sunny in Santa Ponsa and cloudy in the North and East of Majorca.
Santa Ponsa is a mix of a beautiful location, excellent micro-climate with a large, fine sandy beach with life guards in season and a plentiful supply of restaurants and bars to suit all tastes.There are many fine restaurants and bars within Santa Ponsa, a number of which stay open all year long. Along with these are numerous bars and snack type cafes.
