Superb snowfall and sunshine accompany the guaranteed snow of the glacier du Mont de Lans, making Les 2 Alpes a safe bet for season-long skiing. The glacier runs suit all abilities and skiers can head all the way down to Mont de Lans, a vertical descent of 2270m. There is plenty to keep beginners and experts entertained though intermediates may have to settle for long, scenic cruising.
We have a love-hate relationship with Les Deux-Alpes. We quite like the buzz of the village and we understand the appeal of its vibrant nightlife. We love the high-Alpine feel of its main mountain, and the good snow to be found on the north-facing slopes at mid-mountain. But the limited extent of the pistes will put off experienced snow lovers and we hate the congestion that results in peak season when most of the town’s 35,000 visitors are crammed on to them.
What's New
The summer 2010 terrain park was bigger than ever before. The childcare, nursery and leisure centre were brought together in one building.
A new fast quad, the Sautet, is planned and will link the area below Toura to the top of the chairlift from La Fée, making access to the La Fée red and black runs easier. New signage is due for the whole ski area with information boards at each major lift.
