The sunrises and sunsets are absolutely stunning, and there are lots to see under the waves too. The Red Sea is renowned for its rich marine life – look out for sea turtles and dolphins. Divers will appreciate the relatively unspoilt coral wall at Maagana Beach, along with stunning canyons at Devil's Head.
There are plenty of opportunities to ride camels and the mountains are truly beautiful. Explore The Dunes, the connection between the town and the port. There are pleasant walks and the views are impressive.
A jeep trip to the foot of the Coloured Canyon, about 45 minutes away, is absolutely amazing. Guides lead you past towering columns and cliffs of every hue - from white and yellow through ochre to red. The path is rocky and sometimes narrow but the views are magnificent.
Visit St Catherine's Monastery, which is said to date back to the 4th century AD and was built on the sight of the Biblical Burning Bush. You'll get to stroll around the museum while gentle Byzantine hymns play.
