All Inclusive Holidays in Caribbean, and Other Board Types

All inclusive Holidays in The Caribbean, and other Board types

Getting There and around The Caribbean

It is likely that with your all-inclusive deal it will include a transfer from the airport. However check with your specific resort for information on transfers. There are direct flights from London to Caribbean destinations including Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, the Bahamas, Barbados and the Cayman Islands. Low-cost enterprise BMI has flights to Barbados and Antigua.

Once upon one of these beautiful islands you can travel around using either buses or taxi’s. However the bus times are frequent but erratic. For more reliable transport renting a car is available, this also poses some problems as they have a completely different style of driving so be ready to use your horn! It is recommended to check with your all-inclusive resort before you rent a car to see if they have parking space for it.

Beaches in The Caribbean

Beaches don’t get much better than in the Caribbean. There is a large supply of stunning stretches of powdery sands, each celebrating its own individual paradise.

Crane Beach on Barbados has great swimming, clear water and superb white sands; Varadero, in Cuba (on the Straits of Florida) has about 20km of clean beaches and clear waters and is near to lively Havana. No beach seems to be a disappointment in the Caribbean. To escape the other tourists why not head off the beaten track and find an isolated cove or beach, ask your all-inclusive resort for details.

That’s not it there’s also Negril and Seven Mile beaches in Jamaica. Tulum (overlooked by Mayan ruins), Playa del Carmen and Cozumel can be found in Mexico, while the bustling Accra Beach is located on the south coast of Barbados. This is not even close to doing justice to the amount of beautiful beaches found in the Caribbean, so why not go and explore yourself, you will not be disappointed!

Sightseeing in The Caribbean

Visit bustling Mexico City before heading for the Baja California coastline and Mayan ruins of Teotihuacan. On the way to this huge attraction there are also many opportunities to stop off and visit some of the many underground caves that have formed networks under Mexico. The Dominican Republic's capital Santo Domingo's Zona Colonial district is fascinating and partying to merengue music is a must.

If staying near Kingston in Jamaica your trip cannot be complete without a visit to the Bob Marley Museum in his former home. While there, check out the National Gallery and the bustling market.

Cuba's capital, Havana, is an exciting city filled with colonial treasures - and nature lovers and families will enjoy the Gran Parque Nacional Sirra Maestra. It provides perfect photo opportunities and the colours that are so vibrant and so equally spread out across the city are surely going to leave you feeling happy and refreshed.

An all-inclusive resort gives you such freedom to come and go as you please, so after a tiring day sightseeing you will be safe in knowledge that you can return back to the resort and relax.

Eating and Nightlife in The Caribbean

Your all-inclusive resort is guaranteed to have a wide range of delicious cuisine on offer, with many of the all-inclusive resorts offering buffet meals, full English breakfasts, fast food and traditional food of the local area.

The Caribbean is big on spice, so make sure not to miss any of their hotter dishes, especially in Mexico and Cuba. With easy access to the sea the fish on offer here is also delicious, in Barbados there’s flying fish filled with a paste of peppers, onions and thyme, which is then grilled or fried.

Partying in the Caribbean is not in short supply. With both Barbados and Jamaica having a strong party culture. You'll predominantly find reggae, merengue, jazz and even rock music on offer. Which is certain to get you dancing the night away. If you're after English-style pubs, Barbados is well supplied. Or you could enjoy a reggae and rum sunset cruise.

Caribbean Shopping and Family Attractions

Your all-inclusive resort is likely to give you some ideas of what might be on offer in the surrounding markets, as most are traditionally decorated. Locals will often walk along the beaches selling handmade bracelets and necklaces at cheap prices which are perfect gifts for taking home.

Mexico has superb clothing, jewellery and leather bags - head to the markets or smaller villages. In Cuba, it's Havana for its markets in La Habana Vieja and the Gran Teatro de la Habana, and St Martin and St Thomas are particularly good for duty-free shopping.

Swimming, water sports and diving can all be enjoyed here and most big resorts and hotels will offer a crèche or kids programme. There is also plenty of opportunity for nature treks and wildlife spotting.
