All inclusive Holidays in The Canary Islands, and other Board types

Getting There and around The Canary Islands

With most all-inclusive deals transfers to and from the airport are available and therefore you won’t have to worry about travel once in your particular destination. Although you must check with your individual resort to see if this applies to you.

There is a reliable and efficient bus service on the main islands and if you want to explore elsewhere, there are inter-island ferry services and domestic flights too which will whisk you off to your chosen destination in a matter of minutes. Discount tickets should be bought if using buses as they make it a far cheaper alternative than renting a car.

Beaches in The Canary Islands

Fuerteventura is most certainly the island with the best beaches. With 150 stunning stretches of sand what more could you want from a single island! Many of the best beaches are to be found off the beaten track. Tenerife, also offers some beautiful stretches of sand, including Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos. Volcanic black beaches can also be found in Puerto de la Cruz. Lanzarote's not quite as good, though near El Golfo, there's a collection of great black sand beaches.

Most of the all-inclusive resorts available on the Canary Islands have their own sandy stretches with sun loungers and water sports so you will never find yourself too far away from a beach in this perfect holiday destination.

Sightseeing in The Canary Islands

Tenerife’s former island capital, La Laguna is quite stunning, so why not wander around and admire the ornate balconies and brightly-coloured buildings. There are also great sights to see in Lanzarote, the Museo Internacional de Arte Contemporaneo in Arrecife is a must for art-lovers. With some exquisite pieces from; Miro, Millares, Oscar Dominguez and Lanzarote's most famous son Cesar Manrique.

Travelling around the islands by boat and taking in the coastline from a different angle is a definite must. The coastline offers some of the best scenery with the white and black sands and lush green forests spreading up the mountains, it is a perfect photo opportunity.

Eating and Nightlife in The Canary Islands

The local cuisine Spanish, Latin American and Muslim influences and classic dishes include sama a la sal (fish baked in salt) and papas arrugadas (baked new potatoes boiled in lots of sea salt and served with pepper and garlic sauce) and there's lots of good fish such as swordfish and grouper.
Your all-inclusive resort is likely to provide you with the basis of a spectacular holiday in terms of eating and nightlife. The cuisine on offer in most resorts is likely to tickle a wide variety of taste buds. With the bar flowing drinks out all evening until you decide to venture out of the resort late in the evening to hit the bars and clubs the Canary Island has to offer.

With most venues staying open till around 5 or 6 am there is always somewhere open to satisfy. When the clubs do close a beach is never to far away to relax on, or head back to your all-inclusive resort in time for a delicious breakfast!

Canary Islands Shopping and Family Attractions

Tax free! Yes, the Canary Islands are one of the remaining locations for tax free shopping. So make the most of it with electronic goods being particularly good bargains along with perfume, tobacco and alcohol. Local crafts are also in good supply including leather, linen tablecloths and jewellery. There's a Sunday morning market in Teguise, which is a top attraction in Lanzarote.

On Fuerteventura woodcarving from beech, pine, chestnut and mulberry trees is used to make a wide range of interesting and useful objects, including the famous castanets. Cigar-smokers should stock up on the inexpensive and good quality cigars made in La Palma and the basket-ware is also very good in La Gomera. The Aqua Sur and Ocean Park water parks are also great places to while away a few hours of fun.
